Stegosaurus Dinosaur Pop Up Card

Stegosaurus lived 150 million years ago during the late Jurassic in North America and was up to 10 meters long and up to 3 meters high at the hip. The striking back plates brought that height to more than 4 meters. It weighed about 2 tons.

The Stegosaurus is one of the most famous dinosaurs because of its striking appearance. It had a slender neck and a small elongated head with a beak and small teeth. With that he ripped off pieces of plant that were swallowed unchewed. He ate the low plants scattered in the dry landscape. It had long straight hind legs and short strong front legs. The straight legs prevented him from running. When in danger, he held his tail high in the air. At the end of that tail were 2 pairs of long spines with which it defended itself against predators, from which it could not run away. On its back was a row of 19 large pointed bony plates placed alternately to the end of the tail. They may have protected its back from attack, but it may also be that they were used by the animal to cool down or to impress its peers and predators.

Each Popcard can be sent as a greeting card and unfolded it becomes special presents. This 3D card was first devised by our designer, after which he made a test model of it manually. After this sample has been approved, the different shapes to be cut out are programmed in a computer. This computer controls a precision laser, which burns the finely detailed details from the various sheets of cardboard with a gossamer hot laser beam. This precise cutting is only possible with a laser. Once all shapes are cut separately, the card is assembled by hand. The card is then packed in a cellophane bag together with an envelope.
