Each Popcard can be sent as a greeting card and unfolded it becomes special presents. This 3D card was first devised by our designer, after which he made a test model of it manually. After this sample has been approved, the different shapes to be cut out are programmed in a computer. This computer controls a precision laser, which burns the finely detailed details from the various sheets of cardboard with a gossamer hot laser beam. This precise cutting is only possible with a laser. Once all shapes are cut separately, the card is assembled by hand. The card is then packed in a cellophane bag together with an envelope. Halloween Dia de Muertos Invitation Greeting Card | Large pop-up card
Dia de Muertos – Day of the Dead – November 1 and 2
A large two-day celebration where the Mexicans commemorate their dead friends and relatives. Not in sad mourning, but with a festive spectacle full of food, dances and parades in which everyone is dressed as dead. dhe Day of the Dead is above all a day that brings the living closer together. The cemeteries are beautifully decorated and form a meeting place for relatives who have not seen each other for a long time.
On November 1, deceased children are commemorated. This day is therefore more modest. On November 2 it is the turn of the deceased adults and it is a grand spectacle. According to the Mexicans, the dead visit their parental home on these days. And they receive a festive welcome. Nowadays, Dia de Muertos is also increasingly celebrated in the Netherlands.
Halloween – October 31
Halloween, “All Saints' Eve” is originally an ancient Celtic festival (England and Ireland) and is the day when the harvest is in and winter begins. The Celts believed that that evening the ghosts of the deceased visited their homes. They used to go to the cemetery to burn candles for the deceased. Children went too. Today, on Halloween, kids dress up as skeletons, vampires, ghosts, and horror clowns to pass the houses at night. They ring the bell and yell “Trick or Treat!” “A trick or a candy.” The people get to choose whether they give a candy or let the children play a scary joke. The hollowed-out pumpkins with scary faces and candles are meant to scare off evil spirits, wandering souls who also come. Nowadays there are many Halloween parties in the Netherlands. Because what's more fun than to celebrate in a very scary costume?
This bizarre Popcard is mainly made for the Dia de los Muertos, but can very well be used as an invitation to a Halloween party and even for an alternative wedding card. Standing out is fun, right?
